Instagram Reels is one of the most engaging type of content that people indulge in, on the Meta-owned photo sharing platform. Instagram has been pushing Reels more than any other piece of content on the platform, with the short-video format becoming more and more popular across platforms. While watching Reels on Instagram is fun, there are times you may want to download a short video on your device.

Instagram does not give an option to natively share a short video on your device. However, there are third-party tools that allow users to download Instagram Reels on their devices with ease. There are many such tools available online, but a lot of them ask users to log in with their Instagram ID and password, which is not advisable for unknown third-party tools. One such tool named iGram doesn’t ask for any Instagram and Meta credentials, and is a common tool for those who download Instagram Reels on the regular. Here’s how to use iGram to download Instagram Reels on your device:

Step 1 – Open the Reel you want to download, then copy its link. You can do so by tapping the three-dot and clicking “Copy Link” or “Link” on the top.

Step 2 – Once you have copied the Reel link go to iGram and paste the link in the given space.

Step 3 – After pasting the link, click the blue Download button on the right side of the text bar.

Step 4 – Look for the ‘Download MP4′ button below the preview and tap on it to begin the download. Your Instagram Reel will start downloading on your device.

Now, you can see the Reel saved in your device. The file will work with other apps’ media selector like WhatsApp or Twitter. There are similar tools for downloading videos from other platforms like YouTube, Twitter, and more. However, the iGram tool only works for Instagram Reels or videos.

Instagram is pushing Reels on the platform. The company brought the short-video feature to the Instagram app back in 2020, and it is one of the most popular short-video platform in the world. Instagram also said earlier this year that any video shorter than 15 minutes posted on the platform will be shared as a Reel.
